"This stylish pub, whose name reflects the fact that Thomas Paine once called Lewes home, is one of the best places to pair local Harveys ale with well executed food, albeit with a definite Continental lean. Wood panelling, art deco lighting and a summer terrace makes things feel a long way from the average British boozer"  Lonely Planet

Message From The Rights Of Man

Re - Opening Soon !

Many thanks for visiting our web site.

after the recent government announcement we are hoping to open as soon as we feasibly can. Although pubs and restaurants will be able to open outdoor spaces from late April we are currently seeking further guidance from the government at to whether this will be possible for us. We are  contrasting to other pubs and restaurants as our outdoor area is on our roof and only accessible from inside the property. If you wish to book a table please do and we'll cross our fingers as to whether we can open in late April. Please keep and eye on our web site and sign up to our social media platforms for more updates. If we are not able to re-open in late April we will certainly be re-opening in mid May if permitted.

Again, Thanks for visiting us and thank you for your support.

All the best
